Mission

Our mission is to complement the SCUBA industry and provide greater diving accessibility to all; especially children and families where the focus is on core foundation skills and safety. A smart step before Junior Open Water Dive Courses, STEPDive will thoroughly prepare the next generation of divers, progressing them to greater depths when age appropriate.

Team

Tiemen van Dillen

Inventor, Founder & CEO

Tiemen’s personal passion for diving started at the age of 10, after seeing SCUBA divers practice in the local pool of his birth country, the Netherlands. After moving to the US with his parents, he became a certified diver the first chance he got - three days after he turned 14. He holds 3 engineering degrees and spent 17 years innovating and developing consumer products for Whirlpool and Philips in the US and Europe.

Tiemen now lives and operates out of Austria, traveling the world to advocate for youth training and the advantages of a more engaging underwater family experience. "By sharing our SCUBA experiences with our kids, we‘re not only teaching them about this amazing sport and increasing their awareness for the environments we treasure, we’re creating family memories that will last a lifetime."

Darren Osborne

Head of Marketing & Training

Darren grew up on the beaches of Australia and was introduced to a range of water sports from a young age. His 21st Birthday present was an Open Water Course and since then he has not looked back, traveling the world in pursuit of underwater adventures. Darren holds a Bachelor of Science (Physics), Diploma of Logistics, Certificate IV in Business and is also a professional photographer. Currently a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, he has been a PADI professional since 2007 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to STEPDive.
